In the conflict Yamcha, Chaozu, Tenshinhan, and Piccolo are killed, and the Dragon Balls stop to exist. Kuririn and the galactic tyrant Freeza learn of another set of Dragon Balls on planet Namek (Namekkusei?), whereupon Bulma, Gohan, and Kuririn search to allow them to restore their buddies and later the Earth's Dragon Balls, resulting in a number of conflicts with Freeza's minions and Vegeta, the latter standing alongside the heroes to fight the Ginyu Force, a team of mercenaries.
