The Nightmare of Fabrication is a beautifully drawn full-colour manga from Yoshitoshi ABe. The 18 page short story can be found in the Lain Omnipresence in Wired artbook. It's a bonus story which apparently isn't related with neither the anime nor the PS game. It shows characters who were included in the PS game but not in the TV series (like the psychiatrist), but also determinant characters from the anime who didn't appear in the videogame (like Deus).

Raise Giant Mushrooms in Your Cellar!'' There are many wondrous things that small boys can order from mail order catalogs.

In a universe where men and women are mortal enemies, Hibiki is captured by a band of female pirates. The manga differs greatly from the anime, with fewer characters and focusing more on the relationship between Dita and Hibiki. The second volume is a completely original story arc introducing a "black vandread" and its mysterious pilot.

The adventures of three agents from outer space who are sent to Earth to determine whether the planet, a potential threat to the universe, should be destroyed. The instrument of destruction is a device resembling a large black ball with two antennae that is variously called an anti-proton bomb, a solar bomb, and a neutron bomb. Although the three agents (Captain Bokko, Nokko, and Pukko) are originally humanoid in appearance, upon arrival on Earth they take on the appearances of a rabbit (Bokko), a horse (Nokko), and a duck (Pukko) that they had captured as examples of Earth life forms. While on Earth they travel in a tire-shaped vehicle capable of enormous speeds called the Big Wheel, which can travel on both land and water (and, with modifications, through the air). The series tackles a number of issues which were surprisingly progressive for a manga of that period; particularly ecological concerns and poverty.

Sixteen years after the completion of Getter Robo, Ken Ishikawa revived the series with Getter Robo Go. This series, and all after until Ishikawa's death, are done without Go Nagai(he is still credited as original creator). But they need to hurry, for only one can enter the ark.
