500 years before the story of Saiyuki, a heretic child with golden eyes is brought into Heaven. He is given into the reluctant care of a minor deity named Konzen, the nephew of the Merciful Goddess Kanzeon Bosatsu. Konzen eventually gives the child the name "Goku". Goku becomes friends with two other minor gods, Marshal Tenpou and General Kenren of the Western Army of Heaven. He also meets a strange little boy who seems to be his own age, the War Prince Nataku. Although Goku is happy in his new home, Heaven is not kind to heretics. Even more impressive is that this is his first serialized manga outing. This is also scriptwriter Yamada Norie's first manga script and while not as immediately stunning as Yoshizuki's art, it quickly becomes apparent that the characters have more depth than they let on to at first glance. While the story may seem far-fetched and fantastical, the daily life of Yume is surprisingly mundane. Don't mistake this for an action fantasy, Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsuna Koto is firmly planted in character drama. If that's your thing, you're sure to love this manga. (taken from manganews)

As it turns out, Sword entered the body of the cliché nerd who can't run fifty meters without falling. Ios's new body is a terror, feared by all and constantly suspended from school. While the angel and devil have primary control over the bodies of the twins, reflex actions and memories of the other souls (still alive within the bodies) do appear. More importantly, the human bodies cannot handle the powers that Sword and Ios had used with ease.
